Company Information
Flaming Hot Ideas are a small, friendly design agency, situated on the Essex/London borders with an excellent reputation for offering genuine advice on Individual Design and Printing. This, along with their speedy and efficient service, has led to them gaining a solid client base, with satisfied customers across the board, from long established companies to small start up businesses. Their clients cover many different sectors of industry including travel and leisure, architectural, pharmaceutical and specialist furniture to name a few. They also take in Design Agency Overflow work.
Website Objectives
Like many businesses, our client's main reason for building a Website was to ensure they did not loose their competitive edge by not having a site. The ability of a Website to create extra awareness by being available 24/7, and giving added focus for marketing and advertising campaigns, were other key objectives. Our client also wanted the site to portray a professional image and offer enough information to encourage visitors to take their interest further.
Website Template Modifications
Our client had a specific flame effect logo they wished to include in the design which replaced the default animated Lighthouse. This also gave faster page downloads due to smaller file sizes. Other sitewide changes to the basic design were: changing Button options; removing the Newsletter, Member sign-up and Download sections and replacing them with more appropriate ones; and changing the colour of the grey rectangle towards the left of all page titles to reflect the colours in the Navigation Bar.
A new page layout was created for the About Us, Services and Photography pages to allow more content. On each page, the section headings to the right of the main text area were changed slightly to describe various aspects of the business and to stop pages from becoming repetitive.
To display pictures in the Photography pages, a new page layout was developed by including an In-line Frame and creating window arrow up and down Buttons for scrolling the window. A drop down menu was also included to give quick access to other photography sections.
In the Contact page, two additional fields were included in the On-line Form for business name and telephone number. The About Us, Project and Download pages in the Website Template were not used.
