Numerion Associates is a two partner practice based in the heart of the city of London. Both partners are Chartered Accountants with a formidable range of experience. They offer an innovative approach to Accountancy services with a view to adding value to their client’s businesses. They believe, clients’ success is, ultimately, their success. Most importantly, they enjoy what they do.
Website Requirements
Before approaching us to develop their new Website, Numerion had already put much time and effort in to branding their corporate image. During this process, it became clear, the new Website would play a key part in marketing initiatives and, therefore, had to present a highly professional image to the outside world. Since most of their marketing initiatives had already begun, our client was looking for a Web Designer that could deliver a fully functional Website in a short space of time. Since, Website Content can take many months to write, our client was also looking for a supplier with a proven track record in their industry. And in common with most small businesses, they were looking for a solution, that not only offered the highest quality, but also offered real value for money.
Website Template Modifications
The main change to the Template, was in the Page Header. Previously, this was developed in Flash, however, our client did not want any animation, therefore, it was redeveloped in HTML and a simple roll-over effect applied when hovering over the main Navigation Buttons. Since the original dark grey background clashed with our clients logo and corporate colours, it was changed to a neutral white. The grey horizontal bar was changed to a shade of orange to compliment colours in our client's logo. The Homepage and Sitemap icons were also changed to reflect corporate colours. The search icon was removed.
The, overall, Homepage Template design was re-used in the actual Website with a few exceptions. The news section to the right of the page was replaced with an overview of the Why Use Us page. Since, the client liked the appearance of the Newsletter Login box but had not, actually, purchased our Newsletter module, a graphic was used, instead, and redirected to the Contact page when clicked.
Apart from changing the section headings in the About Us Overview page, very little change was required. For the Services Overview page, the Careers Template page design was used in preference to the default Service page design. Although, the default page is ideal for a business with many different services, the Career page design was better suited for a business with less services. The page was designed to allow all services to be one click away.
Over the coming years, our client plans to extend the scope of their Resource area, and with this in mind, a Resource Overview page was included and given prominent placement in the main Navigation Bar. However, since there were, currently, only two resources available to visitors, a page design was required, that would not only summarise current resources, but would also give enough flexibility to include other resources at a later date. Therefore, the default Solutions page design was used with minimal changes.
For all the About Us and Service detail pages, a new page design was created. This included a secondary Navigation Menu to the left of the page, making all pages within each section only one click away. The menu was also designed to compliment our client's corporate colours.
Most of the design features in the default Contact page were reused in the actual design. The main difference being, the layout of the Online Form. Since the client wanted to use their own Directions Map and give visitors the option to print a Printer Friendly page, a new pop-up window was created.
To ensure renewal costs are kept to an absolute minimum with regards to the Tax Rates & Allowances pages, a single page was created and an I-Frame included to show the underlying pages. This approach is much quicker and, therefore, more cost effective, compared to creating a new page for every page in the Tax Rates & Allowances file.
