Company Information
Tactical Tax Planning were founded back in 1990 by Peter Kent, who served his time at some of the UK's leading Accountancy firms. He set up practice in Plymouth, which remains their Head Office to this day. They are a small firm, majoring in dealing with their own kind of businesses i.e S.M.E’s!
Website Requirements
Tactical Tax Planning already had a Website when they approached us to develop a new one for them. The old one was not, particularly, impressive and did not add any real value to the business. A new Website, it was hoped, would bring a more professional Internet image and compare favourably to local competition. There was also a certain amount of Peer pressure involved in the decision to purchase a new Website. More and more Accountants were joining the Internet, therefore, it was important to at least match what other competitors were doing.
Website Template Modifications
The major modification to this Website Template, was to change it from being a totally Flash based Website, to one that incorporated both Flash and HTML. This makes the site much more Search Engine friendly and at a later date, allows our client to modify their own site by using our Content Management system.
The animated intro page was kept since it adds a nice touch to the Website and is an integral part of the Template design. An HTML secondary Navigation Menu was included in the footer of each page to give one click access to all pages, as well as, making the site much more Search Engine friendly. The navigation Buttons were changed to meet our clients own particular requirements.
Four of the original five page layouts in the Website Template were reused in the new design. The exception was the Partners page.
A new page layout was developed for the detailed About Us and Service pages to allow more content to be included. These pages also incorporated sub-menus, making navigation much easier and quicker for visitors.
The On-line Form in the Contact page was modified to include an extra field for telephone details. All pages, with the exception of the Intro page, have had their main content areas developed using HTML. Our News Publishing module was incorporated into the News page.
