Something About Myself
I have been many things in my life (40 something), details of which, I will not bore you with. However, for the last twenty four years, I have been heavily involved in both the Accountancy and Business Software industries.
Accountants Web Design
My time as an an Accountant (Part Qualified) was spent, mostly, working in Practice. It taught me many things, not least of all, Accountants really are careful when it comes to spending money. A little too careful some may argue! However, the up-side is, it gave me a valuable insight into Accountant Practices, and is one of the main reasons why 95% of our standard written content is reused by our Accountant Clients.
Qualified To Advise Our Clients
After spending three further years as Financial Controller for a small, local business, the big move into Sales was made. A step into the real business world some may argue. Apart from allowing a certain amount of financial independence, my experience gained in top level Sales is now being put to good use advising our own clients about the art of creating solid sales arguments and compelling Website Copywrite.
Combined with strong, technical Web Design skills, I guess it puts me in the ideal position to advise on all aspects of developing a successful Website. At least, that is what I tell myself!
Which Brings Me To The Holt Partnership
During my time in Sales, I always had a fascination for the technical side of software development which, eventually, led me into the mysteries of Web Design. It became quite clear early on, to me, at least, there was a gap in the market for quality Web Solutions at affordable prices. Proactive Websites, that are more than glorified Company Brochures.
Cheap Websites
The market was, and still is, full of thousands of Web Design Firms offering cheap Websites that generate cheap looking Web sites. Only a few years ago, it was still a big deal owning your own Website and it's appearance was not such an issue.
The Internet Is Changing
However, times have changed. The Internet is expanding rapidly and as Web Surfers become more used to the Internet, their expectations are becoming higher. Recent studies have shown, a Web Surfer's first impressions of a Website is now an important factor on whether they decide to browse any further.
Why pay more For Less?
Then, there are those Web Design Firms trying to position themselves above their cheaper competitors by offering better quality products. However, these are coming in at a "hefty" premium. For example, our research has shown, competitors building Websites to a similar quality as our own, are charging in excess of £5000 for a relatively small Website.
Small Business Website Design
Compared to our £695 Professional Website Design Templates and £795 Web Site Designs for Small Business, they would appear to represent very poor value for money. Although, £5000 is not a huge sum of money, it does become a factor for many small to medium sized businesses, not totally convinced of the advantages on Internet business.
