No, is the short answer! We have made Web Design a, relatively, straight forward process and no on-site meetings are required. Your new Website can be up and running in a matter of weeks rather than months. Our internal processes are as follows:

Once we have discussed your requirements, and you have decided to use us as the builder of your Ecommerce Web Site, the first step is to send us an Email confirming you wish to move ahead with the project.

 

Confirm next steps

We will send a reply to your Email confirming the development process and next actions. At this stage, and due to the nature of Web Design, we will require payment in full for orders under £1500 before commencing the project. Orders over this amount are 75% on order and the remainder paid two weeks after uploading the new Website to the Internet for product entry.

 

Process Document

Once payment has cleared, we will send our Process Document for you to complete. This document is in Microsoft Word format and enables you to define shop settings. This approach, allows you to edit the basic shop parameters at your own pace. Many clients also find it a useful tool for circulating to colleagues who may be involved in the set-up process. If this is your first Website, a temporary page is uploaded to the Internet to tell visitors your new Website is under construction and due to be launched in the coming weeks.

For the above options, sample screenshots will be prepared of key pages and sent to the customer for approval.

 

Setting up your Email

In the interim, Email addresses will be created for all relevant staff members, with access to the Internet. We also take customers through the process of configuring their local Email Client i.e. Microsoft Outlook. Once this has been finalised, we ask you to check the Email hyperlinks on your Website to ensure they are delivered to your Inbox successfully.

 

Project Team

Once the document is returned, a Development Team is allocated to your project and confirmation given on a date for product entry. The dedicated Team Leader will review the completed document and contact you if there are any points that need clarifying. Once this stage has been reached, the Team Leader passes your requirements to the Development Team and coding your new Website begins.

 

Product Entry

Once system parameters have been created and the shop administration area uploaded to the Internet, customers can begin the process of entering their products. Before this happens , however, telephone training will be given on all aspects of the system together with comprehensive user documentation. Site Testing

Once product entry is complete, site testing will be carried out in accordance with the checklist included in the Process Document. This includes, amongst other things: ensuring Payment Gateways are properly integrated; confirmation Email notifications are sent in accordance with system settings; correct pricing, discounts or promotional pricing is shown to various membership groups; delivery and tax charges are correctly calculated.

 

Live Website

Only after all checks have been approved by both the customer and ourselves, will the shop be officially opened to the Internet community for business.

 

On-going support

Once your Website is live on the Internet, we give you some free, general advice on making sure your new Website is found by visitors on the Internet. This can be a lengthy process, and if you have insufficient time to market your new Website, then perhaps our Website Promotion services will be of interest.
