Headline Text
To give the Search Engines some clues about what words or phrases in the body of the document are more important, Web Designers tend to wrap them up in some special coding. This applies some special formatting to the text, such as, making the font larger, changing the colour or making it bold.
Picture Text
When graphics or pictures are used in Web pages, you have the option to attach some descriptive text to them. It is called the IMG Alt tag.
When a visitor puts the mouse cursor over the picture, the text will pop up and give the visitor some additional information. When Search Engines look at your Web pages, they may take this information into account when ranking the page. Where possible, try and attach hyperlinks to images.
First Sentence
Many Search Engines take the first sentence in the body of your Web page as the description to show visitors. It can also be used as an indication of the page's relevance to the visitors search criteria.
