On-line forms are, typically, created by Web Designers when developing new websites for clients and tend to be simple contact forms. As a user's requirements change, they often need editing, resulting in additional costs from the Web Designer. Some Typical Uses

It is not too difficult, imagining how online forms could help streamline the flow of information within a business. Allowing customers and Website visitors to enter information directly into a database, saves re-keying information and reduces input errors.

A simple, single page contact form is always a good start for any Website. If it only has four or five fields to input, visitors are more likely to complete the form.

However, sometimes it is necessary to have more fields, for example, in the case of an online quotation. The more information collected form visitors, benefits, not only the person making the call-back, it also means, potential clients or customers do not have to waste time answering obvious questions.

Forms can even be designed to manage simple e-commerce requirements. If on-line transactions remain a manual process i.e. cheque, cash on delivery, on account or by Credit Card receipt, then individual forms can easily be created to handle ordering and payment details.

In this scenario, the system is able to send different confirmation Emails to different departments within the organisation. Where Sales could receive notification of an order, Accounts would have the complete order details including sensitive Credit Card information.

How HTML Form Design Works

Users have access to a password protected Control Panel on the website. To help users on their way, Form Design has five default designs that can be edited by the user to meet their own requirements.

Users start, by defining how many pages the form will have. For example, page one could be contact information, page two, ordering information and page three, financial and delivery details.

The user, then defines what fields are included in each page. These could be simple, name, address, email, telephone fields etc. Others could be, check boxes or drop down lists, that visitors can choose from. The system, even allows, visitors to upload files from their own PC.

Once the form has been designed, auto responders can be created, telling the system where information is sent once submitted by the visitor. This is a powerful feature of the system and allows different information to be sent to different people.

Since all information is stored in the database, access to completed forms is only one click away. Information can also be exported in CSV format to existing systems.

To place forms on the website, website owners can create their own Web pages by using our Content Management system and including a small piece of generated code to show the new form. Alternatively, we can create new pages for a small, additional fee and insert the necessary code.

Using Websites to improve information flow within the business, not only reduces staff overheads and errors, it also allows business to maximise the potential of owning a Website.

Integration with your Website

For existing clients, a new page is created on your Website (based on your own design) to host the Forms and links to the page, inserted in all pages. Once deciding to purchase our HTML Form Design software, it can be up and running on your Website within a matter of days. There is a one-off cost associated with this system of £245 (plus VAT, where applicable).

What happens with your order

Web Online Form Design

Creating A New Online Form

This is the first page when accessing the system. The user is offered the option of either, choosing an existing Web Form as a template, or creating a new Online Form from scratch. Form parameters are input first and include options to define forwarding page after form is submitted, if auto responders are to sent and if visitors have the option to print or preview their entries. the system then allows the user to create and name pages to be used in the form.

Creating Page Fields

Once pages are defined for the Web Form, individual fields can then be defined for each page. Fields can be any of the following options; label, text, text area, file upload, drop down select, multi selection, radio button, checkbox, calculation or HTML Editor. Depending on which field type is chosen, part of the page then shows atributes for the field.

Field Attributes

This page shows an example of attributes for a label field. Label fields are, typically, name, telephone, email address, address etc. The user can define if it is a mandatory and can also include some tips on how to complete the field. Validation rules can then be applied to ensure correct input i.e. proper Email address, alpha only, password and decimal points etc. When a new field is created, it is displayed on the page and can then be sequenced.

Submissions By Form

The system can display, at any time, a full list of submitted Online Forms, by form name. The user can also select which columns to show in the list or, by the click of a button, view the complete form. This ensures that forms are never lost.

Exporting Information

For backing up data stored in the database or exporting it to other systems, a single button click is all that is needed.

System Preferences

There is not a great deal to configure in our HTML Form Design software. The key fields are the ability to define a period prohibiting re-use of the Form in case of malicious use, and for defining the thank you message when forms are submitted.
