If you already have Website Hosting with another supplier and want to host your Website with us, then you have two options.
The first thing to do, is register a Hosting account on our Servers. You can do this, even though, your Domain Name is with another supplier. Once registered, you will have immediate access to your new Hosting account and will, therefore, be able to upload all your existing Website files to our Server. At this stage, you will also want to set up your Email requirements in readiness for the change over. This will not affect your Website with your existing supplier.
Once you are happy that everything is set up on our Servers, you can do one of two things;
If you are developing your own Website and need some advice on how to get it up on the Internet, then please contact Us and we will be delighted to offer you as much assistance as is required. You can use us to seek advice on any Website or Website marketing related question.
If you are not developing your own Website, then you may be interested in one of our Web Design services. These services include Website Hosting, therefore, there is no need to purchase it separately. Details of our Web Design services can be found on our Homepage or by selecting from the drop-down menu in the main Navigation Menu, above.
Yes, we can take you through the process of setting up your Email on your local PC and how to upload your web files to the Server.
All web hosting accounts are activated in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We send your welcome email within ten seconds of your account being ordered!
Yes, as standard, we have already part installed some of the Internet's leading Blog Software, such as, Wordpress. You will be able to use your free MySQL database and install one of these Blog systems in a matter of minutes.
The bandwidth relates to the amount of data uploaded to the Server via FTP i.e. when uploading your web files, and to the amount of data used in serving your web pages to your website visitors. This is unlimited, there is no limit to the number of pages the server can serve, and no limit to the amount you can theoretically upload via FTP. Bandwidth is data transfer, and there is no limit.
.
However, it does not apply to unlimited Server resources. Unless the Hosting Service package you order includes a dedicated server (please contact us for details) you will only be allowed to use a maximum of five 5% per cent of our server's processing capacity when using the Hosting Service package you order.
5% of a server's CPU and memory is still an astonishing amount, and it does take quite a lot for any single site to be using that much of the server resources. We generally find this only happens once a site either grows so popular that it needs to be hosted on a VPS or dedicated server anyway, or if the site has been compromised in some way, and is running a huge number of processes as a result.
Yes, you will need a Domain Name to use goMobi. If you do not have a Domain Name, you can purchase one during the goMobi registration process. Dot co.uk Domains are only £8.50 for two years. Dot com are £13 for one year.
If you already have a Website and/or your Domain Name is registered with another supplier, you can still register for our goMobi service.
However, you will have to edit your Domain Name DNS settings to tell Browsers where to find the Mobile Phone version of your Website. To do this, you will have to create a new CNAME.
The CNAME Record would be the sub-domain you choose chosen on the 'Order Add-ons' page of your Heart account and goMobi can only be installed onto one of the following sub-domain formats (m.theholtpartnership.co.uk or mobile.theholtpartnership.co.uk) so the CNAME would look like this depending on what sub-domain you purchase GoMobi to be installed on either (m or mobile):-
subdomain = (m or mobile).theholtpartnership.co.uk
CNAME = lb.gomobi.info.
goMobi can take anywhere up to 24 hours to go live, as the DNS would need to propagate.
